BAM! is the newest “FINE ART” creation, lead by J. Derek Tieken, DDS. A leader and visionary in the Bay Area since 1990, Dr. Tieken decided to create a special way of saying, “Thank You,” to the community that has treated him so well. In 2004, his gratitude lead to founding this unique professional team. “Giving back joy in life, using makeover services as a tangible via, seemed a natural way to accomplish my goal,” states Tieken.

Last year’s candidate, Joey Singleton, was a single parent nominated by his sons. Their letter about their dad touched so many hearts and brought tears to the eyes of those who heard it read at the 2006 Reveal Party.

We all know that beauty is only skin-deep, but when you feel you look good on the outside it makes you feel good on the inside, and when you feel good on the inside, you’re going to take better care of yourself. When you’re taking care of yourself and feeling good, your confidence soars. That’s where I am right now. I’m flying high. I feel wonderful. My life is truly blessed.
I have been on the most amazing journey since being selected for this Make-over. I have nothing but high praise for every one of the Doctors, business owners and all of the staff that I have gotten to know through this process. I have been treated with great respect and have felt confident that my well-being has been of utmost importance to each and every person involved with my make-over. Not only have I met some wonderful people along this journey; but I am in awe of the changes to my life, that I never expected, because of the procedures I have had completed.
